Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team for a permanent part-time position, working every Thursday. This is an excellent opportunity for a hygienist looking for a stable, predictable schedule alongside other commitments.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive oral health assessments, including periodontal charting and screening for oral disease
- Provide scaling, root planing, and other preventive periodontal treatments
- Take and process dental radiographs as needed
- Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive care
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and personalized home care routines
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation in patient records
- Work collaboratively with dentists and the broader clinical team to coordinate patient care
- Ensure all infection control and sterilization protocols are followed
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and reassuring chairside manner
Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists (BC College of Oral Health Professionals)
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a full day of scheduled patients
- Previous clinical experience preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply
Schedule
- One day per week: Thursdays
- Permanent, ongoing position (not temporary or contract)
