Position: Banquet Event Manager
Location: Banquet Hall in Mississauga (close to 401)

Full Time (Part Time considered)
We are a well-established banquet facility in Mississauga for over 30 years. The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a fast-paced energetic environment with a positive attitude and strong time management and multitasking skills. Previous experience in a hotel or venue management position is preferred. This job will require late nights and some early mornings to be on-site for events. Daily tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Scheduling & managing service staff for multiple events such as: Bartenders, servers, coat check, door attendants, dishwashers
- Preparing schedules & ensuring we are fully staffed for each event
- Reviewing floor plans and menus for discrepancies
- Maintain inventory of alcohol and beverages
- Interviewing, hiring and training new service staff as required
- On-site event management for Weddings, Showers, Birthdays, Funerals, Corporate Events etc.
- Being the main point of contact for clients & service staff during events; ensuring meal service is on time as scheduled, liaising with clients to ensure events are successful and that all policies and procedures are adhered to
- Maintaining a calm, professional demeanor with clients who are intoxicated and enforcing our responsible drinking policy
- General office administration work as required
Hours will vary from week to week; the majority of your shifts will take place on Friday/Saturday/Sunday with shifts ranging from 4:30pm-2:30am and occasionally full Sundays from 10:00am-2:00am. Meals are provided for event shifts. Any administrative work (scheduling, inventory, order placing) would generally take place on a Monday. You MUST be able to work every weekend, including Long Weekends. (Available to work weekends, including possible long weekends)

Job Requirements:
Previous hotel/venue experience is preferred
* Mandatory: 3 year minimum experience in the Hospitality Industry
Fluency in English: Speaking, Reading, Writing

Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, Excel
Secondary School Diploma
