Build Clean, Modern Commercial Spaces Without the Drywall Mess
Mr. Starwall specializes in demountable and reusable wall systems that provide a beautiful, efficient, and economical alternative to traditional drywall. Their wall systems are flexible, reusable, sustainable, and designed for commercial office interiors that need to change and grow over time.
Mr. Starwall is looking for a reliable, organized, and hands-on Installer to join the team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in carpentry, framing, drywall, handyman work, or construction who enjoys working indoors, using tools, reading drawings, measuring accurately, and solving problems on site. The STARWALL system is custom-installed on commercial projects and involves working with aluminum framing, glass, panels, doors, trims, whiteboards, and specialty finishes.
Key responsibilities:
- Review drawings, layouts, measurements, and site conditions before installation begins.
- Stage and protect client spaces, including floors, ceilings, furniture, and surrounding finishes.
- Safely load, unload, organize, and handle STARWALL materials, hardware, glass, panels, and tools.
- Install framing, panels, glass, doors, trims, whiteboards, and specialty finishes.
- Prepare materials and submit cut sheets to production and powder coating.
- Ensure all walls are level, plumb, secure, and completed to Mr. Starwall standards.
- Coordinate with electricians, low-voltage technicians, and other trades as needed.
- Provide daily photos and project notes to the PM, sales, and front-of-house teams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
- Complete final quality checks, report deficiencies, and help deliver completed spaces ready for occupancy.
Qualifications:
- Experience in carpentry, framing, drywall, handyman work, installation, or commercial construction is preferred.
- Comfortable using power tools, reading drawings, taking measurements, and working from layouts.
- Physically able to lift and move heavy materials, including glass and panels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust to site conditions.
- Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and safety-minded.
- Able to work well with sales, production, administration, trades, and clients.
- Must take pride in keeping job sites clean and professional.
- PPE and job-site safety awareness required.
Pay and benefits:
- Independent contractor position. Installers are responsible for their own taxes and transportation.
- Training compensation starts at $25-$40 per hour, depending on experience. After training, installers may transition to project-based or flat-rate compensation based on productivity and completed work volume.
- Indoor commercial work with less mess than traditional drywall installation.
- Company-provided training on the STARWALL system.
- Opportunity to grow into a highly productive installer role with strong earning potential.
