Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable AZ licensed driver with a minimum of 10 years of experience to operate flatbed, drop deck, Conestoga, and step-deck trailers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience driving across both the USA and Canada and possess a strong understanding of load securement and transportation regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (flatbed, drop deck, Conestoga, step-deck trailers) across Canada and the USA.
- Secure and tarp a variety of loads, including steel, lumber, and machinery, using chains, binders, blocks, and tarps.
- Read and interpret permits for oversize/overweight loads, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Inspect and maintain trailer lights and required signage for different loads.
- Physically load and unload cargo, and climb on and off the trailer safely.
Qualifications:
- Valid AZ license with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Clean Driver's Abstract and CVOR.
- Proven experience driving across the USA and Canada.
- Extensive experience securing and tarping various loads.
- Ability to read and understand permits for oversize/overweight loads.
- Physically capable of handling heavy tarps, chains, binders, and blocks.
- Ability to climb on and off trailers safely.
- Experience operating flatbed, drop deck, Conestoga, and step-deck trailers.
- Knowledge of required lights and signs for various loads.
- Passport, FAST card, and TWIC card are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must reside within the province of Ontario.
