Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves supporting warehouse operations, including loading products, delivery and receiving, and pallet trunk operation. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience and possess a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and heavy machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse distribution, mechanical knowledge, and equipment operation within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate pallet trunk such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers safely and efficiently
- Assist with order picking, packing, and packaging to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Load and unload shipments using appropriate heavy equipment and manual handling techniques
- Manage shipping and receiving processes
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock and maintaining inventory levels
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency
- Assist in construction or assembly tasks as needed within the warehouse environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, or order pickers
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on equipment
- Experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, packing, and load & unload procedures
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely (up to 50 pounds or more) and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Construction or manufacturing experience is a plus for understanding complex machinery or assembly tasks
- Prior warehouse experience with knowledge of warehouse distribution processes is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy and safety compliance
- Ability to work in a fair-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
