The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Claims Operations Assistant to join our team to support the Claims team with key administrative tasks, including opening new claims, claim acknowledgement emails, processing payments, reserve transactions and recoveries across multiple lines of business, in addition to processing monthly claims bordereaux.
What You’ll Be Doing

Opening and setting up new claims in the claims management system, including acknowledgement of claims

Closing claims in the claims management system

Monitoring claims inbox and taking actions accordingly

Accurately entering payments, recoveries and reserve transactions across multiple lines of business

Receive, review and input claims information received by way of bordereaux into the claims management system

Proactively manage day to day priorities

Respond to ad hoc requests for claims information, loss runs. Etc

Assist the claims Operations team in balancing multiple tasks and deadlines
Who You Are
You are a detail‑oriented insurance professional with claims experience, ideally within commercial property and casualty or specialty lines. You are comfortable supporting a claims team with high‑volume administrative work, including claim set up and closure, payments, reserves, recoveries, and bordereaux processing, while managing priorities with accuracy and detail.
You bring:

1-3 years of relevant experience

Claims related experience, preferably in commercial property and casualty and/or commercial specialty lines insurance

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to collaborate within a team to reach goals

Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems used in claims processing.

Strong organization and multitasking abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required; fluency in French preferred but not required.

Previous insurance experience is a definite asset.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is (53,000-60,000). Compensation may vary for roles in other regions to reflect local market conditions and currency differences. At Tokio Marine Canada, our salary ranges are designed to reflect the skills, experience, and responsibilities required for each role while providing room for growth. For experienced professionals, offers are typically positioned near the midpoint of the range. The upper end of the range is reserved for individuals who consistently deliver exceptional performance and impact. Candidates who are newer to the role may start below the midpoint, with opportunities to progress as they develop. Final offer decisions take into account factors such as location, relevant experience, and individual skill set.

We work in a hybrid model, and you should expect to split your time between working in the office and working remotely, with flexibility based on the role and the business needs. We currently have an office in downtown Toronto and will eventually be establishing offices in other provinces. Should you currently work in a province where we do not have an office, you will remain remote until such time as we do establish an office.
