Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Hand – Interlock & Hardscape Installer to join our growing landscaping and hardscaping team. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience installing interlock and operating equipment, who can also lead a small crew and manage job sites independently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, ensuring high-quality installations, and maintaining efficiency and safety on projects. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to operate equipment and drive company trucks when required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small crew on landscaping and hardscape installation projects.
- Prepare job sites including excavation, grading, and compaction of base materials.
- Install interlock stone, pavers, and hardscape features with precision and quality craftsmanship.
- Operate machinery such as skid steers, mini excavators, compactors, and cut-off saws.
- Drive company trucks and trailers to transport equipment and materials to job sites.
- Read and follow site plans and layout measurements to ensure projects meet design specifications.
- Ensure proper drainage, base preparation, and installation standards are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Communicate with management regarding job progress, materials, and scheduling.
- Ensure crew members are working efficiently and maintaining company quality standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in interlock, landscaping, or hardscape construction.
- Experience leading crews or acting as a lead hand on job sites.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required to drive company trucks).
- Experience operating landscaping and construction equipment such as skid steers and excavators.
- Strong knowledge of base preparation, grading, and drainage practices.
- Ability to read site plans and execute layouts accurately.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage projects independently.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working outdoors.
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused.
