Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer experiences, managing transactions efficiently, and supporting the overall store operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for delivering excellent service. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or technology sales are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, credit card transactions, and returns
- Provide product demonstrations and explain features to customers, especially in technology or electronics sections
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and stock levels
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with excellent phone etiquette
- Manage time effectively to ensure quick checkout lines during busy periods
- Support inventory management through product organization and stock replenishment
- Assist in training new team members on POS systems and customer service protocols
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Bilingual skills (English and additional languages) are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills necessary for accurate transactions
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and technical sales is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are essential
- Previous merchandising experience and knowledge of retail operations will be beneficial
