Position Overview
The Vice Regal Lounge Host delivers courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable service to guests of the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge, supporting daily lounge operations and helping create a refined, welcoming, and comfortable guest experience. This role requires sound knowledge of wine and bartending and works collaboratively with the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge team while consistently upholding The Fort Garry Hotel’s service standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver courteous, professional, and attentive service to guests of the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge
· Demonstrate strong knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, and bartending techniques to confidently prepare, serve, and recommend beverages
· Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service, including assistance with hotel services, dining reservations, and local arrangements
· Set up, service, and maintain the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge during breakfast, afternoon snack, and evening cocktail periods
· Prepare and serve hot, cold, and alcoholic beverages in accordance with certification requirements, hotel standards, and responsible service guidelines
· Support the daily operation and closing procedures of the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge
· Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑presented lounge and bar area, including tables, glassware, service equipment, and beverage displays
· Monitor wine, bar, and lounge inventory, replenishing glassware, ice, and supplies as required
· Engage with guests to ensure comfort and satisfaction, promptly escalating concerns or requests to the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge Manager
· Adhere to all Fort Garry Hotel policies, service standards, grooming guidelines, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice Regal Floor & Lounge Manager

Qualifications Required
· Minimum 3 years of previous food and beverage service experience preferred
· Sommelier training is an asset.
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays
· Required Food Handlers & Alcohol Service (Smart Choices) certifications for Manitoba
· First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and move throughout the lounge for extended periods
· Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
· Maintain a polished, professional appearance throughout the shift
