Established in 1919, Fort Garry Fire Trucks is Canada’s leading manufacturer of quality fire trucks. Fort Garry Fire Trucks is looking to hire a full-time Automotive Final Assembler. As a Final Assembler at Fort Garry Fire Trucks, you will be part of the manufacturing team responsible for reading and interpreting work orders and installing trim, shelves, and doors on fire trucks, water trucks and septic trucks.
Applicant Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of assembly experience
- Secondary or post-secondary automotive education
- Fluent spoken and written English and good interpersonal communication skills
- Legally entitled to work in Manitoba
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds individually or 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Proficient in using a tape measure
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting basic drawings and schematics
- Experience following work orders to complete installations
- Capable of drilling and tapping holes in specific locations
- Experience installing automotive trim, shelves, and doors
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Reliable transportation; busing is not available at our location
Assets: Preference will be given to applicants who are available to work both the day shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the evening shift, 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
