About MiHR
Mining is a dynamic and innovative industry that is essential to our every life. Cellphones, cars and healthcare for example would not be possible without mined materials. Mining also plays a major role in the solar panels, electric cars and environmental solutions that are part of the world we want to create. Joining the industry means being part of the largest private sector employer of Indigenous people in Canada that is regularly developing initiatives to increase participation from other diverse groups and an industry that is committed to the highest health and safety standards and environmental sustainability.
The Mining Industry Human Resources Council (MiHR) is an independent, non-profit organization that leads collaboration among mining and exploration companies, organized labour, contractors, educational institutions, industry associations and Indigenous groups to identify and address the human resource and labour market challenges facing the Canadian minerals and metals sector.
MiHR is committed to ensuring a non-discriminatory, inclusive work environment which supports a
diverse and equitable workplace where all employees and volunteers feel valued and respected. MiHR promotes work life balance through a flexible hybrid model involving a blend of time working in office and from home. Our time in office strengthens our collaboration and company culture and our time working from home makes day-to-day life easier to manage and helps reduce our carbon footprint.
