Vanpearl Natural Health is a growing leader in the Natural Health Products (NHP) industry, dedicated to quality, innovation, and regulatory compliance. We are seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Assistant to support our Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Position Summary:
The QA/QC Assistant will support the Quality department in ensuring that all NHP products meet regulatory standards and internal quality specifications. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has a basic understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Health Canada NHP regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine quality inspections on products and processes to ensure they align with GMP and internal procedures
- Prepare accurate, complete, and compliant documentation for inspections, tests, and quality records, such as GMP-compliant documents, cleaning logs, and calibration logs.
- Assist in reviewing and maintaining QA/QC documentation, including batch records, COAs, and SOPs
- Support raw material and finished product testing by coordinating sample submissions and logging results
- Performs in process control checks during manufacturing and packaging procedures
- Monitor and track deviations, non-conformances, and CAPAs
- Maintain organized and up-to-date quality records and logs
- Assist in internal audits and regulatory inspections preparation
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and R&D teams to ensure quality standards are met
- Help ensure product labels, specifications, and claims comply with Health Canada’s NHP regulations
- Assist in the preparation and submission of Health Canada Natural Product Number (NPN) applications, including Class I, Class II, and Class III product licence applications
- Perform basic lab tests, under supervision and assist with equipment calibration/maintenance
- Other quality-related administrative duties as assigned
- Assist with general administrative and office support duties, including preparing invoices, maintaining records, communicating with suppliers and customers, coordinating shipments, and supporting daily business operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, or related)
- 1+ year experience in a QA/QC role, preferably in the NHP, pharmaceutical or food industry
- Familiarity with Health Canada’s Natural Health Product Regulations
- Knowledge of GMP and quality systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent command of English language (verbal and written)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Assets (Not Required):
- Experience with ERP or QMS systems
- Knowledge of lab testing procedures and analytical equipment
- Experience with product licensing or site licensing for NHP
- Experience preparing and submitting Health Canada NPN applications (Class I, Class II, and Class III)
