Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a smooth kitchen operation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent cooking skills, and experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and grow within the food service industry.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitizing work surfaces
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products
- Support the kitchen team during busy hours to ensure timely service
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role in a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Knowledge of the food industry trends and customer preferences is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistency in meal preparation
- Prior experience with meal preparation, serving, or kitchen operations is desirable
