Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator/Truck driver to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and machinery to assist with various tasks. We do sewer and water installation/repair work, lakefront protection, aggregate/soil processing, site preparation and demolition. This job position would be involved in a bit of all of the above. The truck driver portion of the job would require you to move equipment to and from job sites and deliver concrete/aggregates. This could be a full-time or seasonal position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers & directional drill.
-Operate a dump truck, cement truck and truck/tractor with a trailer
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning (fuel & grease)
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times
- Transport materials and equipment to different job sites
- Perform manual labor when needed for example: Shovelling, Climbing a ladder
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar setting
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class 3 minimum or Class 1 preferred)
- Proficient in the operation of equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as a team
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks
