Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mixer to join our manufacturing team in the food processing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the critical first step of our production process: precise ingredient scaling and large-batch mixing. This is a highly physical, fast-paced production role requiring heavy lifting, exact mathematical precision, and a strict commitment to food safety.
Location: Eglinton Ave and Victoria Park
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Ingredient Scaling & Prep: Accurately measure, weigh, and scale raw ingredients according to established formulas and precise recipes.
- Batch Mixing: Safely operate large industrial commercial mixers, vertical blenders, and attachments to produce high-quality doughs and batters.
- Quality Control: Monitor dough consistency, mixing times, and temperatures to ensure every batch meets our exact quality standards before it moves to the baking line.
- Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a spotless, allergen-safe mixing station. Wash, clean, and sanitize commercial mixing bowls, hooks, hoppers, and utensils according to strict food safety guidelines.
- Dough Handling: Safely transfer mixed dough and batters from mixing bowls into production hoppers, troughs, or staging areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Physical Strength & Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hour shifts) and repeatedly lift, carry, and dump bags of ingredients weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) into mixing bowls. Heavy lifting is a primary daily requirement.
- Attention to Detail: Absolute precision is required to accurately read scales, calculate batch sizes, and follow strict recipes. Mistakes at the mixing stage impact the entire production line.
- Machinery Comfort Level: Must be comfortable working around large, powerful industrial kitchen machinery and strictly adhere to all safety and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work shifts ranging between 5:00 AM and 10PM, including weekends as required by production schedules. (Note: Mixers are crucial for early-morning production starts).
- Hygiene & Safety: Must adhere strictly to personal hygiene standards, slip-resistant footwear requirements, and general food safety regulations.
