Job description:
TYCROP Trailers is looking for a Group 1 Welder/Fitter/Fabricator to join our growing team in Chilliwack.
The Group 1 Welder/Fitter/Fabricator is responsible for performing complex fabrication, fitting, welding, layout, assembly, and repair work on trailer components, sub-assemblies, and complete units. The position requires advanced proficiency in blueprint interpretation, fitting, welding, and fabrication techniques and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Fitting
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and production schedules.
- Lay out, measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel, aluminum, and fabricated components.
- Perform complex fitting and fabrication tasks requiring minimal supervision.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and fit-up requirements prior to welding.
- Conduct modifications and rework as directed by engineering or supervision.
- Ensure components are fabricated to established quality standards.
Welding
- Perform welding in accordance with approved welding procedures and company standards.
- Complete production and repair welding using approved welding processes and equipment.
- Weld in various positions and on a variety of materials and thicknesses.
- Inspect welds for quality, appearance, and compliance with specifications.
- Complete repairs to welded assemblies as required.
Qualifications:
- Welder Trade Certification/CWB certification / C-ticket or higher an asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of dimensional measurement and layout techniques.
- Working knowledge of overhead crane and rigging practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work well in both independent and team environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
