About the Role
As a Utility Locator, you will work independently in the field, ensuring safe and accurate locating of underground utilities. You will use our ticket management system to document mark-outs for excavators and property owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locate underground utilities safely and accurately: telecommunications, electric, gas, water, sewer, and cable systems
- Thoroughly search dig areas, mark utility locations, document findings, and photograph each ticket
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and use a company laptop for ticket management
- Follow all safety procedures and site requirements
Requirements
- Mandatory: ORCGA DPT Certification
- Optional but valuable: Book 7 Training, Health & Safety Training
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, work in confined spaces, and be outdoors in all weather
- Computer proficiency and ability to manage tickets digitally
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
Compensation: Piece-work / pay-per-ticket
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.20-$28.97 per hour
