Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Massage Therapist to provide specialized, one-on-one in-home care for a male client recovering from a stroke. The ideal candidate will deliver professional massage therapy tailored to rehabilitation, mobility improvement, pain relief, and overall well-being. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of stroke rehabilitation or medical massage, and a dedication to delivering exceptional care in a private home environment.
Note: Due to the personal nature of the care and the specific physical support needs of the client, only male applicants will be considered for this role.Responsibilities
- Tailored Therapy: Perform professional massage therapy sessions tailored specifically to stroke recovery, focusing on circulation, muscle spasticity, mobility, and pain management.
- In-Home Consultations: Assess the client's physical condition, monitor progress, and adapt treatment plans according to his evolving rehabilitation needs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential records of treatments, progress notes, and any changes in physical response.
- Caregiver Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate effectively with the client, family members, or other healthcare providers to align therapy goals.
- Safety & Comfort: Ensure a safe, professional, and therapeutic environment within the home by adhering to strict hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols.
- Physical Assistance: Assist the client with positioning and transferring safely onto the massage table or chair as required.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Certification as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) or working towards it
- Specialized Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and specific massage techniques beneficial for stroke recovery (e.g., neuromuscular therapy, gentle stretching, or lymphatic drainage).
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust, maintain client comfort, and effectively communicate with the family.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain absolute professionalism, confidentiality, and a supportive, positive attitude at all times.
- Experience: Prior experience in rehabilitation, clinical massage, or working with neurological conditions is highly preferred.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
