Job Summary:
The Materials and Production Planning Supervisor directly manages material handlers and develops the production schedule. This team member must be a high energy, multi-tasker and problem solver who can build strong internal and external relationships to assure that customer needs are fulfilled on time.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage material handlers including monitoring hours, pay, performance, coaching, annual reviews, disciplinary, etc.
· Develop, manage, and staff/cover production schedule
· Schedule releases to mill/outside suppliers and customers
· Work directly with customers to determine accurate forecasts
· Create and manage mill and processor forecasts and releases for direct material
· Manage all mill/outside suppliers’ concerns
· Order entry, order tracking, status review, and gathering market intelligence
· Maintain the inventory supply/demand balance
· Resolve inventory supply/demand exceptions with appropriate people
· Professionally communicate with customers via phone and email and manage customer concerns
· Develop and build key relationships with customers, suppliers/vendors, and co-workers
· Assist with facility maintenance, janitorial, and general reception services
· Respond to business needs on-call/outside of regularly scheduled business hours as needed
· Serve as plant management back-up
· Other duties as assigned
CRITICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
· Strong planning, time management and communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Ability to understand and assess supply chain issues and work cross functionally to resolve issues
· Efficient computer skills in MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and MS Teams
· Role Model of Our Philosophy - Good attitude, team player, and self-starter
· Understands materials management concepts and terminology
· Demonstrated ability to proactively and positively accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously
· Oracle body of knowledge skills a plus
· Supports EHS, 6-S, Continuous Improvement, and other progressive initiatives and practices
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in business, supply chain, logistics or quantitative fields
- 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay: $59,059.00-$88,587.00 per year
