Overview
Kings Regional Service Commission is seeking applicants to fill an immediate opening for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator / Labourer at our Waste Management Facility.
No two days are the same in waste management and there is always something to do. Our facility operates in all weather environments and receives household and commercial waste. Reporting to the Site Foreman, you will be responsible for diverting materials for our landfill diversion programs, yard maintenance, and assisting other employees in the Waste Management Facility as needed.
Responsibilities
- Directing traffic and assisting clients with offloading their waste
- Covering for the Site Foreman when they are not on site (lunch, sick, vacation). This includes operating heavy equipment to move and load solid waste from the tipping floor to trailers,
- Tarping / cleaning off loads
- Loading wood as required
- Yard maintenance such as mowing lawns, snow removal and general cleanup
- Provide relief to the Scale House Operator as needed. This includes weighing vehicles and collecting payments.
- Other duties as required
The role does require handling up to 50lbs (22.7kg) and standing for extended periods. CSA approved steel-toed work boots are required for your safety. We’ll provide the rest of the required equipment!
Heavy equipment certification, fall arrest, workplace first aid and a valid drivers license would be considered a plus. Kings RSC is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all.

Pay: $46,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
