We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent (PM Shift) to support large-scale construction projects, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in data centers.
About the Role:
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site electrical construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with project management, field staff, and subcontractors to drive successful installations, maintain high-quality work, and support project delivery timelines. This will be an afternoon shift from 2pm to 11pm, overtime as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor field electricians and subcontractors.
- Coordinate daily on-site activities and sequence work hall-by-hall to maintain schedule alignment and prevent trade conflicts.
- Oversee installation of electrical systems, equipment, and distribution components, identifying routing or clearance issues early in the review process.
- Review drawings, specifications, change directives, and owner-supplied equipment interfaces to ensure constructability and alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety regulations, and project specifications; conduct safety meetings and enforce company policies
- Support material planning, procurement, equipment tracking, and verification of delivered materials.
- Coordinate and verify the work of sub-subcontractors within assigned areas.
- Collaborate with project managers and foremen to resolve field issues and maintain project progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, manpower tracking, and progress updates, using cloud-based software for logs, issues, and redlines.
- Participate in pre-functional testing, commissioning activities, and turnover documentation.
- Ensure high-quality execution in mission-critical environments; data center experience is considered a strong asset.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of electrical construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Experience with cloud-based construction software and various office software programs to implement day-to-day operations.
- Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate trades, maintain site productivity and lead onsite meetings.
- Journeyperson Electrician certification (or equivalent) required.
- Experience with large commercial or industrial projects; data center experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution, grounding, equipment installation, and commissioning workflows.
- Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate trades, and maintain site productivity.
- Solid understanding of CEC and relevant electrical standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
