Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic or 2nd year apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various types of heavy machinery. At Brodex Industries we work on a wide variety of trucks and equipment, everything from brake jobs to engine rebuilds, changing hoses to complete overhaul of trucks and equipment. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship.
Duties
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs in a shop and in a field environment.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
- The ability to complete physically demanding mechanical jobs.
Experience
- Journeyman/Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic preferred. 2nd year apprentices will also be considered, rate based on hours completed.
- Proven experience as a mechanic in either the commercial transport or heavy duty equipment industries.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using both hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for effective troubleshooting.
- Engine building experience is an asset.
- Experience operating a service truck is an asset.
- CVI certification would be an asset.
- Class 1 License or airbrake endorsement an asset.
