WOW! Factor Desserts, an established and growing specialty dessert manufacturer in Etobicoke.
We are looking for an energetic, reliable, dedicated individual to join our team. This amazing individual will perform a variety of duties and be a multitasker in a fast paced environment: customer service for walk-in retail customers: receptionist/telephone answering: and order desk with data entry activities. Experience in a retail environment, fluent & clear English. Our ideal candidate is seeking a permanent full time employment with room for growth. This candidate must have their own vehicle and be comfortable in traveling short distances from time to time. They should also be well trained in Excel.
Responsible for delivering excellent customer service while supporting daily store operations. This includes assisting customers, processing transactions, and responding to inquiries, as well as maintaining store cleanliness and presentation. The role also supports inventory coordination, order preparation, and cash handling, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all retail activities.
Additionally, the Retail Associate contributes to product preparation, local wholesale orders, and/or promotional efforts such as social media and in-store marketing. The position also provides administrative support through phone reception and customer communications, while assisting with events, sample preparation, and other operational needs as required.
Role Responsibilities
Retail Associate: Greet and welcome customers into the store. Assist them with any questions and in providing accurate product information. Process transactions and daily sales reports. Confirm and prepare third party delivery orders. Respond to inquiries that come through our website in a professional and timely manner.
Direct Delivery Customers: invoicing and payments for all 300 direct delivery customers.
Area maintenance: Maintain store cleanliness, work with other retail staff to ensure all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks are completed. Assist with
changing seasonal decorations. Have the necessary flyers and advertising available in the retail area as needed.
Cash Handling: Complete daily cashout, help with finalizing the deposit and taking it to the bank as needed.
Cake Preparation: Build pre-designed variety boxes, or unique orders ahead of time to ensure timely transactions and overall preparedness. Re-box cakes that boxes are damaged in transport.
Product Knowledge: Stay informed about new and discontinued products to best support customer inquiries.
Local Wholesale: Receive and process orders for local businesses who place small size wholesale orders. Confirm delivery and payment for these orders.
Marketing: Support with social media posts as needed. Manage the Birthday Rewards program for customer and staff birthdays, by tracking and communicating out monthly coupons.
Reception: Answer, screen, and redirect calls as needed. Answer customer questions and inquiries related to retail who phone the store(s). Work with leadership and providers to block recurring spam phone calls.
Food Shows: Assist in the preparation for food shows as needed.
Samples: Prepare samples and sample kits for the retail area, food shows, and customers as needed. Ensure any request or order for samples is complete and accurate. Maintain consistent presentation and portion control.
Additional Duties: As opportunities and needs arise, responsibilities may include other tasks not listed above to support the team and contribute to WOW! Factor Desserts' success.
Education & Experience
· Previous experience in customer service role.
· Experience working with a POS and Microsoft Suite preferred.
· Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Working Conditions
This position primarily works in a small retail setting. This role requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up-to 25lbs. Our products are stored in an industrial freezer, the ability to go in and out of the cold environment is required, this includes some longer durations to assist in the organization of the product. Day-to-day of this position may look different depending on operational needs.
Pay: $19.00-$21.50 per hour
