Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service at our retail location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations at the pump, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized station environment. This role requires strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. Bilingual skills and experience in retail sales or cashiering are highly valued to enhance the customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling vehicles efficiently and safely
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, processing payments accurately, and issuing receipts
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and upselling items such as snacks or beverages
- Maintain cleanliness of the station, including pumps, convenience store area, and surrounding grounds
- Manage inventory levels of store products and report shortages or issues promptly
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and change accuracy
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures during fueling operations
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Demonstrate organizational skills by keeping work areas tidy and stocked throughout shifts
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Multilingual abilities or bilingual skills (English/another language) are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic merchandising enhances performance in this role
- Strong communication skills, time management, and phone etiquette are essential for providing top-tier service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
