Job Summary:
The Machine Operator at Diebec is responsible for safely operating various machinery used in the manufacturing and fabrication of custom metal components. This includes setting up machines, monitoring performance, and ensuring that parts meet quality and production standards. Has mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and works well as part of a team in a fast-paced, precision-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Operate and monitor manual and CNC machines (e.g., presses, shears, lathes, or mills) as assigned.
- Set up machinery based on job specifications, including adjusting tools, dies, and material placement.
- Start and run production jobs, ensuring machines are running efficiently and safely.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and rulers to ensure accuracy to specifications.
- Identify and report defects, non-conformities, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain production records and complete job paperwork accurately.
Safety & Maintenance:
- Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and operate equipment in accordance with company policies.
- Keep machines and work areas clean and organized.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and assist with troubleshooting when needed.
Teamwork & Support:
- Collaborate with supervisors, team leads, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow and resolve production issues.
- Assist in other areas of production or general labor duties as required.
- Reliability and punctuality are a must in this role.
Qualifications:
· 1–2 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication preferred).
· Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to use hand and measuring tools.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
· Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Must be avaiable to work either shift 6am-12:30pm and 12 pm-8:30 pm
Pay: $19.00-$20.72 per hour
