Fractional Technical Product Manager / Scrum Master
Part-Time Contract Position (20 Hours per Week)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager / Scrum Master to provide strategic product leadership and agile project management on a fractional basis (approximately 20 hours per week). This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, customers, designers, and development teams, ensuring successful delivery of digital products and technology initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong product management expertise with hands-on agile delivery experience, technical understanding, and exceptional communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Management
- Define product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with business objectives.
- Gather, document, and refine business requirements and user stories.
- Create detailed acceptance criteria and functional specifications.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog based on business value and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancements and innovation.
- Analyze customer feedback, market trends, and performance metrics to guide product decisions.
Agile Project Leadership
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage sprint execution and ensure teams remain focused on agreed priorities.
- Remove blockers and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, risks, and resource allocation.
- Track and report on sprint velocity, delivery milestones, and key performance indicators.
Technical Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical deliverables.
- Support solution architecture discussions and technical planning.
- Ensure development teams have clear requirements and priorities.
- Coordinate QA, testing, deployment, and release activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain regular communication with leadership, clients, and project teams.
- Provide status updates, risk assessments, and delivery forecasts.
- Facilitate decision-making and manage competing priorities.
- Ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution.
QualificationsRequired Experience
- 5+ years of Product Management, Technical Product Management, or Scrum Master experience.
- Proven experience managing software development projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
- Experience working with web applications, SaaS platforms, mobile applications, or digital products.
- Ability to write detailed user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM) or equivalent.
- Product Management certifications or formal training.
- Experience working with distributed development teams.
- Understanding of software architecture, APIs, integrations, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with UX/UI design processes and customer-centric product development.
