Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This dual-role position combines front desk administrative duties with clinical support, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, familiarity with dental software, and a friendly demeanor to create a welcoming environment for patients. Prior experience in dental or medical offices is highly valued, along with proficiency in electronic medical records and office management systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule appointments efficiently using Abeldent or similar dental practice management software
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining sterilization standards
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
- Handle administrative tasks such as billing, processing payments, and maintaining office supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area to promote a professional environment
- Support the clinical team with basic chairside assistance when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with dental software such as Abeldent and paradigm is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry enhances patient communication
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and office management systems is advantageous
- Strong administrative background with experience managing multi-line phone systems and front desk operations
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
