Byblos Spit And Wrap LTD. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is focused on the authentic preparation of Lebanese and Middle Eastern cuisine. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of Halal food preparation standards and be committed to maintaining high-quality culinary traditions in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook complete Lebanese/Middle Eastern meals and individual dishes according to established recipes.
- Maintain strict adherence to Halal certification protocols in all food handling and preparation processes to ensure no cross-contamination.
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements and costs for meal preparation.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintain inventory, and manage records of supplies and equipment.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Clean the kitchen and work areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant setting, specifically with Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine.
- Knowledge: Demonstrated, hands-on knowledge of Halal food preparation and handling standards.
- Certification: Valid Food Safety Certificate is required.
- Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, reliable, organized, and a strong team player.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
