Position Overview:
As a Log Loader Operator, you will play a crucial role in safely and efficiently loading logs onto trucks, managing log decks, and supporting the overall flow of our forestry operations. The ideal candidate is a safety-focused, experienced heavy equipment operator who understands that productivity and efficient load times are essential to meeting production goals and keeping our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate log loader equipment to safely, efficiently, and effectively load, unload, and sort logs at landings and loading sites.
- Maintain high productivity standards by consistently achieving target load times and maximizing truck turnaround.
- Build and manage log decks to optimize efficiency and safety.
- Communicate clearly with truck drivers, foremen, and other operators to coordinate loading activities and keep operations on schedule.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, including species, size, and destination.
- Assist with other forestry and site operations as required.
