Northern Strands is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Project Coordinator/Manager (Engineered Fall Protection), whose primary responsibility is overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle including planning and coordination, client interaction and communication, safety, scheduling, quality, and cost and scope control. In addition, this role will assist in generating service quotations and build customer relations, providing knowledge and understanding of height safety requirements. This is an in-office position, reporting to our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan location, and is pivotal in managing and streamlining daily project workflows to ensure operational efficiency and success. What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Assist in preparing client quotations, including defining required components and services, and obtaining competitive pricing on materials and subcontracted services
- Coordinate project personnel, materials, and equipment to ensure seamless project execution
- Prepare and execute project work plans and schedules
- Identify needs and deficiencies in the plan/schedule and communicate these to the appropriate stakeholders
- Complete detailed tracking and reporting of labour, materials, and equipment
- Maintain customer annual inspection database by issuing notices, preparing quotations, and compiling and issuing inspection data from field to Engineering
- Complete project closeout activities, such as invoicing, compilation of turnover packages, and project postmortems
- Collaborate with Crew Supervisor, Engineering, and Fabrication teams to develop solutions and troubleshoot any project-related issues
- Participate in internal and external project meetings and track minutes for distribution
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and firm understanding of products and services available
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and firm understanding of legislation and standards, ensuring awareness among customers, vendors, and colleagues
- Provide accurate and timely internal reporting
- Deliver other general administrative office support as required
- Provide support to the Engineered Fall Protection division and across Group of Companies as required
What You Bring to the Table
- 3-5 years of experience in a Project Coordinator/Manager of similar role will be considered an asset
- Preference for experience in construction or engineered safety products fields; ability to read construction drawings, specifications and understand the flow of work required
- PMP Designation or Project Management Certification will be considered an asset
- Current possession of or eligibility for registration as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGS is considered an asset
- Familiarity with scheduling software (such as Primavera or MS Project) will be considered an asset
- Understanding in value added solutions, including elements of design, engineering, fabrication, and installation
- Effective document control
- Ability to interact directly with clients
- Ability to quickly grasp occupational health and safety regulations, fall protection standards and other corresponding regulation codes, and apply in customer dealings and product applications
- Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines managing all areas of the project, from award to closing
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge base
- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
- Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, fall protection, etc.)
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
