The Events Manager will be responsible with the execution and planning of events and programs.
The incumbent is charged with the responsibility of coordinating all of the logistics associated with hosting a Cambridge Chamber of Commerce event. The Event Manager is responsible for ensuring all event venues are ready to receive participants in an atmosphere that is conducive to hosting a successful program. This position is responsible for determining the needs of each event with respect to room size, set-up, catering, equipment etc. In conjunction with the VP of Operations, establishes revenue and expense estimates in preparation of individual budgets for each event. In addition, once services have been identified, the position will negotiate with the appropriate vendors for the supply and delivery of any merchandise or services required for an event. The Event Manager is to attend all events for the purpose of participant registration, troubleshooting and ensuring that the needs of any speaker, instructor, sponsors and participants are addressed.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute all virtual and in-person events from start to finish
- Respond promptly to event inquiries via email, phone, and in person
- Address and resolve concerns from participants, vendors, sponsors, and speakers/instructors
- Manage multiple overlapping event preparations with strong organizational skills
- Source, secure, and coordinate speakers for all events, seminars, and educational programs
- Conduct site visits to evaluate and confirm venue suitability
- Oversee event setup, including décor, seating arrangements, sponsor areas,
- Ensure all events are accurately listed on the website with up-to-date information
- Set up and monitor online registration systems
- Welcome participants onsite and verify their registration
- Prepare event agendas, tickets, and other required materials
- Work within established budgets and strive to meet financial targets
- Create and manage event entries in Membee (CRM)

- Solid organization, planning and execution skills
- Post secondary education in hospitality, events, public relations or business communications would be an asset
- Experience in event planning
