Full job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Landscaping Supervisor to lead our field teams. This role is available in two distinct tracks—Landscape Construction or Landscape Maintenance—depending on your expertise and career goals. For the exceptional candidate with proven experience in both fields, we offer a unique hybrid opportunity to work across divisions. In any capacity, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality work, managing crews, and delivering an exceptional experience for our clients
Track Options
Option A: Landscape Construction Supervisor (Project-Based)
You will focus on bringing designs to life. Your days will be spent managing the installation of hardscapes (patios, walls, outdoor kitchens), plantings, drainage solutions, and water features.
- Core Focus: Project execution, blueprint interpretation, material logistics, and heavy equipment operation (skid steer, mini-ex).
- Success Metric: Projects completed on time, on budget, and exceeding quality standards.
Option B: Landscape Maintenance Supervisor (Recurring Services)
You will focus on the health and beauty of established properties. You will manage routing, oversee turf and plant care, and lead seasonal operations like leaf cleanup and snow removal.
- Core Focus: Crew efficiency, horticultural health (pruning, fertilization, IPM), route optimization, and client retention.
- Success Metric: High client retention, property quality scores, and crew productivity.
Option C: Hybrid Supervisor (Construction & Maintenance)
For the versatile leader with proven experience in both disciplines. You will float between divisions as needed, leading a hardscape build one week and overseeing a maintenance route the next. This role requires exceptional adaptability and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities (General)
- Crew Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and train crew members. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure everyone understands their role for the day.
- Quality Control: Conduct ongoing site inspections to ensure all work meets company standards—whether that means level pavers or precisely edged turf.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards. Conduct safety talks and ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact in the field. Keep clients informed, answer questions, and identify opportunities to exceed expectations.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure trucks, trailers, and tools are maintained, clean, and operated safely. Report maintenance needs promptly.
- Problem Solving: Address on-site challenges (weather delays, material shortages, client concerns) quickly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in the landscaping industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Technical Knowledge (Select based on track):
- Construction: Hardscape installation, grading, drainage, reading site plans, equipment operation.
- Maintenance: Turf management, pruning techniques, weed identification, irrigation troubleshooting, fertilizer/chemical application.
- Hybrid: Strong knowledge of both areas listed above.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with clean record. Pesticide license preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in all weather, and assist crew physically as needed.
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
