Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of passengers. This position requires excellent customer service skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with passengers and staff. A strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and mechanical knowledge is essential for maintaining the bus in optimal condition.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, disembarking, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or passenger needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness within the bus interior and exterior, ensuring a pleasant environment for passengers.
- Keep accurate records of passenger counts, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transit.
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial driving is preferred, with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance tasks and troubleshoot minor issues with the vehicle.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with passengers and team members.
- Proven customer service skills, demonstrating patience and professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations while ensuring passenger safety at all times.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 2 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Punctual, reliable, and professional appearance
