About Us
Mindful Playful School is a new Christian childcare centre located in the Killarney–Shaganappi area of SW Calgary. We offer a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment that blends the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches.
Our programs include:
- Daycare (ages 3–5)
- Preschool (ages 3–5)
- Before and After School Care (Kindergarten – Grade 6)
We are seeking a passionate, creative, energetic, and nurturing educator to join our growing team and support our mission to foster curiosity, kindness, and mindful learning.
Position Details
- Job Type: Full-time / Part-Time / Casual
- Hours: 30–40 hours per week (depends on position)
- Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:45 p.m
- Compensation: Pay is negotiable based on education and experience
Requirements
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certificate Level 1, 2, or 3 (required)
- Montessori experience required (or willingness to learn)
- Criminal Record Check (issued within the last 6 months)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Clear understanding of Emergent/Reggio and Montessori curriculums
- Excellent communication skills — able to collaborate with colleagues and engage parents effectively
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
- While not required, having personal Christian faith values that align with the school’s philosophy would be an asset
- Possession of a Class 4 Driver’s License is an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Implement Montessori and Reggio-inspired learning experiences
- Support children’s social, emotional, and academic development through play and exploration
- Communicate daily with parents about their child’s progress and needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, professional, faith-based atmosphere
