About Us
Langley Senior Resources Society (LSRS) is an independent and non-profit organization providing recreational, educational, and social programs as well as comprehensive supportive services for seniors in the City of Langley and the Township of Langley. Programs and services are delivered at our two locations and in partner sites throughout Langley. Our dedicated staff, and over 200 volunteers serve Langley seniors with heart and compassion every day.
Our Adult Day Program is the largest in Fraser Health and provides specialized care and recreation for adults with physical and/or cognitive limitations in the Langley area. We provide social connection, therapeutic recreation activities and exercise, and health monitoring and assessments. We are a welcoming, inclusive, and diverse team, who are proud of our high standards of care. LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE – Adult Day Program
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Program Manager, and in conjunction with our Lead LPN, this position will provide medical support and guidance with the social, mental, and physical needs of our clients using client-centred, trauma-informed best practices.
Working Hours:
Part-time employment
- 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Monday and Saturday - minimum 14 hours per week and up to 35 hours possible to provide coverage for vacation or sick relief for current LPNs.

Pay Range:
$26.50 - $28.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitoring clients:
- Weight conditions
- Vital signs
- Mental and emotional needs and cognitive abilities
2. Client Care Planning:
- Sets up individualized care plans and maintains on-going record of clients.
- Advises Program Manager and team, including volunteers, about any client’s special needs, including assistance or diet.
- Manages client health routines as needed, including medications, dressing, toileting, bathing, and behavioural issues.
- Continually assesses client’s appropriateness for the program and dialogues with the program manager and family members at times about any changes.
- Maintain contact with active clients who are absent from the program for any medical issues.
3. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of relevant Adult Day Program and LSRS
policies and procedures.
4. Essential Duties could change at the Managers discretion and would be discussed
fully prior to implementation.
5. Represents the Values and Mission of Langley Senior Resources Society.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an approved school of Nursing with current registration and valid registration with appropriate LPN associations. New graduates are very welcome.
- Current Level 1 First Aide.
- A sound knowledge and background in geriatric and/or rehabilitation, and/or dementias / traumatic brain injuries / chronic health conditions.
- The ability to demonstrate empathy, strong customer service skills, and conflict resolutions.
- Able to have sensitive and challenging conversations.
- Experience with Sharevision or similiar CRM is an asset.
- It is the requirement of our Adult Day Program that all staff have required vaccines including the required doses of Health Canada-approved Covid-19 vaccine.
OTHER SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Must respect that all information about clients at the Adult Day Program is strictly confidential.
- Must complete a satisfactory Criminal Record Check - vulnerable sector.
