Job Summary
AEGIS Homecare, formerly known as Compassion Homecare, is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Healthcare Aide (HCA) to provide one-on-one care for a client in Calgary. We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the quality of life of seniors by providing safe, respectful, and compassionate care in the comfort of their home.
Schedule
- Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
- 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Ensure the client's safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as needed.
- Prepare meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
- Provide companionship and meaningful engagement throughout the day.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, when required.
- Perform light housekeeping related to the client's care.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or emotional condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
- Communicate effectively with the care team and family members when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Certified Healthcare Aide (HCA) or equivalent recognized healthcare training.
- Previous experience providing home care or senior care is preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willingness to obtain one).
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
