About Beacon Children's Centre
Beacon Children's Centre is a private paediatric therapy clinic opening in Mississauga in August 2026, offering Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) services for children and families. Our multidisciplinary team of regulated clinicians delivers coordinated, evidence-based care built around each child's individual goals.
We are looking for a Registered Occupational Therapist to join us as an independent contractor, contributing paediatric OT services as our caseload grows.
The Opportunity
This is an independent contractor position, starting on a flexible, as-needed basis with the expectation of growing as clinic volume increases. It is an ideal arrangement for an OT who maintains their own practice or holds other clinical commitments, and who is looking for a collaborative, well-supported clinic environment to expand into.
You will deliver individual paediatric OT sessions and caregiver coaching at our Mississauga clinic, working alongside ABA and SLP colleagues within a genuinely integrated multidisciplinary model.
What You'll Do
- Conduct OT assessments (sensory processing, fine and gross motor, adaptive behaviour, daily living skills) for paediatric clients
- Deliver individual OT therapy sessions in clinic, with community or school visits available as clinically indicated
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy programs, including written home programs and sensory diets
- Provide caregiver coaching to support carry-over of OT strategies to home, school, and community settings
- Facilitate or co-facilitate OT group programming (sensory and motor groups) as caseload warrants
- Collaborate with ABA and SLP colleagues on shared clients, contributing to coordinated program goals and joint caregiver coaching where appropriate
- Prepare clinical documentation including assessment reports, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with COTO standards
- Issue OAP-compliant receipts and maintain billing records as required
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) as OT Reg. (Ont.)
- Paediatric OT experience, with a focus on sensory processing, motor development, and/or autism spectrum disorder
- Experience delivering caregiver coaching and written home programs
- Strong assessment and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Professional liability insurance (required for all contractors)
Assets:
- Experience working within an ABA or multidisciplinary paediatric clinic setting
- Familiarity with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and OAP-funded service delivery
- Experience facilitating paediatric group therapy programs
- Experience with AAC or communication-focused OT interventions
- Bilingual (English/French or English and another community language) is an asset
The Arrangement
- Independent contractor engagement, governed by a written contractor agreement
- Flexible scheduling, starting on an as-needed basis and growing with the clinic's OT caseload
- Competitive contracted hourly rate, commensurate with experience
- In-clinic at Beacon Children's Centre, Mississauga; community visits available
- All administrative and scheduling support provided by our clinic coordinator
- Collaborative clinical environment with direct ABA and SLP colleagues on site
