Craneium Inc., a leading provider of overhead crane modernizations and service across Western Canada, is hiring a qualified Overhead Crane Technician to join our Edmonton-based team. We’re looking for a reliable, safety-conscious professional who takes pride in their work, thrives both independently and in a team, and meets Canadian standards for crane inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform annual inspections on overhead cranes, hoists, and rigging
- Execute planned mechanical and electrical repairs (shop and field)
- Install new equipment and support modernization projects
- Provide breakdown service and commissioning support
- Travel extensively throughout Western Canada to job sites
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician or Millwright certification (required)
- Minimum 10,000 hours of overhead crane experience
- Skilled in both mechanical and electrical systems
- Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments
- Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driving record (required)
- Fall Protection certification
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
- Fluent in English
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
- Willingness to travel for the majority of work throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba
Schedule & Compensation:
- Typical rotation: 3 weeks on (10-hour days), 1 week off
- Monday to Friday, with on-call and weekend availability as needed
- Overtime pay available
