ServiceMaster Restore of Grande Prairie is a trusted leader in disaster restoration, proudly serving Grande Prairie and surrounding areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team. We are looking for someone who can confidently step into the role with minimal supervision and immediately contribute to residential and commercial restoration projects.
This is not an entry-level position.
Job Summary
As an Experienced Carpenter, you will perform a variety of repair, reconstruction, and finishing tasks on residential and commercial restoration projects. You will work independently and alongside project managers and restoration teams to return properties to their pre-loss condition.
We are looking for a reliable, skilled individual who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and can adapt to a wide variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of residential and commercial carpentry work
- Complete framing, drywall installation and repairs, taping, mudding, painting, trim work, flooring, cabinetry, and finishing carpentry
- Assess damage and determine appropriate repair methods
- Read and interpret work orders and project scopes
- Complete projects efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
- Participate in emergency response work when required
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of carpentry or renovation experience
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices
- Experience with drywall, flooring, trim, painting, and finishing work
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on site
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labour
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
Preferred Assets:
- Experience in the restoration industry
- Experience working with insurance restoration projects
- Safety certifications (First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS)
- Experience leading crews or mentoring team members

Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
- On-call work may occasionally be required
