Hammond Golf and country club is looking for part-time line cooks to join our team at the Dandy Lion Brew Pub.
The in-house restaurant is open year-round, catering to a variety of guests, with a restaurant, microbrewery, banquet facilities and large patio. We are looking for passionate people who want to make a difference while working.
We are looking for amazing talent who want to help us achieve our goal of becoming more eco-conscious, off- the-grid and sustainable.
Some of our inspiration came from documentaries such as the Biggest Little Farm & Kiss the Ground.
We are currently for cooks to join our crew. Train under our talented team as we strive to create an outstanding culinary experience at Hammond Golf. There will be a large emphasis on sous vide cooking making everything from scratch and utilizing our custom-made wood burning pizza oven. We are seeking applicants with a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
Requirements/Responsibilities
- Contribute to a positive team environment
- Accurately follow directions from your supervisor
- Be able to follow recipes correctly
- Confident and competent with knives
- Execute all items to the highest standard following recipes and procedures
- Ensure opening & closing procedures are completed accurately
- Maintain food quality and portion control at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and health & safety standards
- Follow all operational policies and procedures
- Maintain high level of food safety practices
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the kitchen.
Hammond Golf is located approximately 30 minutes east of Ottawa. Reliable personal transportation is required as public transportation is not available to this location.

- Culinary: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
