As the exclusive Central and Eastern Canadian distributor for EZ Dock, the industry leader in modular floating dock systems for more than 30 years, Great Canadian Docks delivers best-in-class marine solutions serving a broad range of clients from homeowners and marinas to parks, resorts, and government agencies.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Dock Sales and Service Specialist will play a crucial role in developing strategic partnerships, work with customers to understand their waterfront needs, and help design practical, real-world dock solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about the marine industry, working with their hands, enjoys being on the water, and building long-term relationships with customers in a cottage-country environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with customers in a consultative way; listening first to understand their dock and waterfront needs, diagnosing problems, and recommending practical EZ Dock solutions that improve their overall waterfront experience.
- Prioritize problem-solving and customer success over transactional selling by providing tailored advice and solutions, focusing on the right fit rather than the first sale, and building long-term customer relationships.
- Manage dock installation projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with client needs and company goals.
- Help customers troubleshoot existing dock systems and recommend upgrades, additions, or servicing solutions.
- Support waterfront dock installations on-site when required (hands-on, physical work involved).
- Assist with warehouse operations, preparation of materials, and logistics as needed.
- Collaborate with a knowledgeable internal team; ask questions, lean on expertise, and work together to solve problems.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and other events to build new business connections with homeowners, cottagers, and contractors.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in the marine industry or possess a technical understanding of outdoor recreational systems / cottage-country living
- Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively at all business levels as well as effectively present solutions and negotiate with clients.
- Exceptional customer service skills, focused on building long-term relationships
- A strong problem-solving mindset built on listening first, asking the right questions, then building solutions
- Ability to work in a small team environment where everyone contributes and supports each other
- Hands-on attitude, willing to help in the warehouse and on the water for dock installations as needed.
- Comfortable working in a physically active, outdoor environment
- Exceptional time management skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Technical knowledge of docking systems is considered an asset.
Who You Are:
- You have a genuine passion for the marine industry and are driven by the challenge of developing and solving real-world problems that enhance the waterfront experience.
- You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the warehouse and on the water.
- You are naturally likable and can build trust easily with customers.
- You are comfortable navigating uncertainty and adapting to evolving business needs.
- Your ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively makes you a resilient member of any team.
Working Environment:
This position involves working in the office, in the field, and on-site for dock installations from time-to-time. Travel is an integral part of this job and will be required up to 30% of the time including some out of province travel for business development, industry trade shows, on site customer support, and time spent at other offices.
