OVERVIEW
We have launched an innovative line of Martha Stewart food products in Canada and the U.S., along with a growing portfolio of consumer products, including innovative pizza ovens. We are seeking a motivated, organized, personable and sales-driven Sales Representative / Sales Coordinator to join our team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting and executing a wide range of sales and business development activities, including contacting current and prospective retail clients, coordinating sales presentations and follow-ups, preparing sales materials, supporting new product launches, maintaining client and opportunity records, and assisting with the continued growth of our product distribution across Canada and the U.S.
This is a hands-on role that combines sales, client communication and sales coordination. The successful candidate will work directly with the VP of Sales and interact with retailers, distributors and other business partners to promote and sell our growing portfolio of branded consumer products.
DUTIES
Sales & Business Development
- Work directly with the VP of Sales to support sales initiatives, client development and business growth.
- Proactively contact current and prospective retail clients across Canada and the U.S.
- Assist with promoting and selling the company’s portfolio of consumer products, including branded food products and pizza ovens.
- Identify and follow up on potential sales opportunities.
- Support efforts to expand product distribution with existing and prospective retail accounts.
- Maintain regular communication with retailers, distributors and other business partners.
- Travel across Canada and the U.S. to attend trade shows and meet with current and prospective clients.
Client Outreach & Follow-Up
- Schedule sales presentations, client calls and follow-up meetings.
- Respond to emails and inquiries from current and prospective clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow up consistently with retailers, distributors and other business contacts to help move sales opportunities forward.
- Maintain organized records of client communications, leads, opportunities and required follow-up activities.
- Ensure that client requests and inquiries are directed to the appropriate internal team members when required.
Sales Materials & Presentations
- Prepare and update sales sheets, product presentations, price lists and other sales materials.
- Assist with the preparation of client presentations and sales proposals.
- Ensure sales materials contain accurate and up-to-date product, pricing and promotional information.
- Coordinate with marketing and graphic design teams when new or updated sales materials are required.
Product Launches & Retail Support
- Assist with the launch, presentation and promotion of new products.
- Support the introduction of new products to existing and prospective retail accounts.
- Help coordinate product information, samples, presentations and sales materials required for new product launches.
- Assist with follow-up activities related to retailer presentations, product reviews and new business opportunities.
Sales Coordination
- Support the VP of Sales with day-to-day sales coordination and administrative activities.
- Maintain organized sales files, customer information and follow-up schedules.
- Help coordinate meetings, presentations and communications with customers and business partners.
- Assist with tracking sales leads, opportunities and next steps.
- Coordinate internally with sales, marketing, operations and management to help ensure customers receive accurate and timely information.
Client & Internal Communication
- Communicate professionally with retailers, distributors, customers and other business contacts.
- Coordinate with internal departments to obtain product information, pricing, sales materials and other information required by customers.
- Help ensure internal and external stakeholders have access to current and approved sales materials.
- Maintain clear and timely communication regarding customer requests, opportunities and required follow-ups.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Willing and able to travel within Canada and the U.S. as required to attend trade shows, client meetings and other business events.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in sales, sales coordination, customer service, retail, business development or a related role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and follow-ups simultaneously.
- Comfortable communicating professionally with retailers, clients and other business contacts by phone, email and video conference.
- Strong follow-up skills with the ability to remain persistent and proactive in developing sales opportunities.
- Comfortable preparing professional sales documents, product sheets, presentations and client communications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and familiarity with common online business tools.
- Self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently without requiring close supervision.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to maintain accurate client and sales records.
- Professional, personable and enthusiastic with a strong customer-service mindset.
- Sales-oriented and motivated by achieving results and helping grow product distribution.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where responsibilities may evolve as the company grows.
- Strong written and spoken English.
ASSETS
- Proficiency in French.
- Experience with retail accounts, consumer packaged goods (CPG), grocery retail, food products, appliances or other consumer products.
- Experience working with retailers, distributors or buying teams.
- Experience with sales presentations, product launches or new business development.
- Experience working with branded or licensed consumer products.
- Experience working in a small-to-medium-sized business environment.
- Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. retail markets or North American distribution channels.
WORK LOCATION
This position requires in-person attendance during the first three months. Following this initial period, the position may transition to a hybrid work schedule, depending on the successful candidate’s preference and the requirements of the role.
COMPENSATION
- Annual base salary starts at $55,000 plus commission.
- The position may also include performance bonuses or other sales incentives based on the final compensation structure and the successful candidate’s responsibilities.
