About the Company
Our client is a well-established manufacturer of industrial metal packaging products, supplying the paint, coatings, and chemicals industries across North America.
The Role
The Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of production machines and equipment on the manufacturing line. This role ensures machines run at maximum efficiency during scheduled periods and that finished products meet quality standards. The Machine Operator works closely with the Production Manager.
What You Will Do
- Operate production line equipment (e.g., forming, seaming, and press/stamping stations) and ensure specified requirements are met
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues
- Inspect and test product quality on the line
- Assist with machine adjustments and perform calibration checks
- Understand and follow procedures, instructions, and reports
- Complete and maintain accurate production and machine performance reports
- Monitor and report rejected product to Quality Control
- Communicate machine problems or production challenges to the Shift Lead and Production Manager
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety regulations and company safety policies
- Notify Supervisor when stepping off the line to maintain safety and quality standards
Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience with industrial equipment required; 5 years an asset
- Proficiency with hand tools
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Willingness to work morning, afternoon, or night shifts
- Fluent English (reading, writing, communication) preferred
