JOB DESCRIPTION:
JD Customz Automotive is a family-owned full-service automotive shop in Carleton Place, Ontario. We provide general maintenance and repair for all makes and models of vehicles (including classic vehicles), installation of lift/levelling kits and other custom work. We are looking for a Licensed Automotive Service Technician to join our busy team.
We are passionate about providing the best quality repairs for our customers and we are looking for someone who shares that same passion and wants to put their best work into every task. To be a successful candidate for this position you must be licensed and have the experience and ability to provide our customers with quality repairs and maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspecting vehicle’s mechanical components, diagnosing problems with vehicles and performing maintenance and repair work on cars, trucks and other vehicles.
· Conducting extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
· Conducting necessary repairs and verifying cause, complaint, and correction.
· Inspecting vehicles according to the Ministry of Transportation requirements for safety certification.
· Maintaining a working knowledge of current automotive repair industry best practices. Review work orders and discuss work with service manager. Clean and maintain the work environment daily to ensure longevity of equipment and workspace safety.
Must be dependable and client focussed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be available for full time work Monday to Saturday (40-50 hours per week)
· Completion of 310s Certification
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment
· Ability to supply own complete set of automotive repair tools
· Able to supply own steel-toed safety boots
· Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Candidates should possess minimum 3 years’ experience
· English language is essential
