Building a Great Team of Great People providing a Great Customer Experience
At Robinson Residential Design, we specialize in high-quality, full-service residential design. We’re locally owned and operated, with over 40 years of experience designing homes and residential projects across Saskatchewan.
Our work is rooted in teamwork, attention to detail, accountability, humble expertise, and skilled creativity - and we’re passionate about delivering thoughtful residential design while continuing to grow and evolve as a team.
We’re now looking to add an Architectural Designer to our growing team.
What you’ll be doing:
As an Architectural Designer, you will act as a design lead on your own clients and projects, guiding them through our design process from early concept through to completed design drawings. You will work closely with clients to ensure design intent is carried through with clarity and precision.
- Design Leadership & Client Collaboration
- Lead design meetings with clients to understand goals, lifestyle needs, and project vision
- Develop and present creative residential design concepts that balance functionality, aesthetics, and budget considerations
- Manage client expectations throughout the design process, including scope, timelines, and revisions
- Translate client needs into complete residential design solutions ready for technical development
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, consultants, and internal team members
- Design Development & Documentation
- Produce thoughtful and well-resolved residential design concepts including floor plans, elevations, and overall layouts
- Ensure design quality, flow, proportion, and usability are consistently strong across all projects
- Collaborate with our internal team to transition design concepts into full construction documentation
- Apply internal design standards and continuously contribute to improving design quality and consistency
- Site & Bylaw Integration
- Incorporate site conditions, orientation, grading, views, and access into design concepts
- Conduct bylaw and zoning research to support design direction
- Identify potential site or regulatory challenges early and communicate them proactively
- Ensure designs are compliant with municipal requirements and site constraints
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who is experienced and confident in residential design and comfortable leading client-facing design work. You are someone who:
- Has intermediate to senior-level experience in residential design (3+ years preferred)
- Has direct experience designing residential projects and working with clients
- Is confident leading client meetings and guiding design conversations
- Can translate design criteria into complete residential design solutions
- Has strong communication skills and a professional, consultative approach
- Is highly detail-oriented while still maintaining strong creative thinking
- Enjoys problem-solving and exploring design options
- Works well both independently and within a collaborative team environment
Technical Skills
- AutoCAD experience is required, Revit experience is considered an asset
- Experience in residential design (custom homes, renovations, multifamily, or production housing) is strongly preferred
- Experience with builders, estimating, project coordination, or project management is an asset
We value strong communication, responsiveness, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative design environment regardless of location. We’re open to remote candidates, or hybrid arrangements if you’re the right person for our team!
