- Special Note: This Program Manager would be leading our Intensive Support Residence (ISR) also know as ESIL. This leadership role REQUIRES a candidate with significantly enhanced knowledge/skills/experience related to the provided service for individuals with serious mental illness and/or addiction issues.
The Program Manager ensures the overall effectiveness of one or more Karis Disability Services locations. They seek to promote and model Karis Disability Services’ Service Principles by enhancing relationships, promoting citizenship, valuing people’s gifts, recognizing self-determination, encouraging growth and development, and recognizing the need for holistic supports in a manner that considers each person’s intrinsic value. They implement organizational policy and establishes an environment for supported individuals and employees in keeping with Karis Disability Services Values, Vision, and Mission. The Program Manager is required to assist the Direct Support Professionals in meeting the needs of the people who use services, promoting growth and enhancing quality of life.

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in developmental services
- At least 6 months of Program Manager experience, preferably with Karis or a similar organization
Education
- Completion of a 3-year university degree
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Diploma is considered an asset
Skills and Competencies
- Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR
- Valid driver’s license
- Completion of supervisory or management training/courses
- Strong organizational skills and advanced computer proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Advanced knowledge of behaviour supports, mental health, and addictions
Mental Demands
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities related to team success, safety, and service delivery
- Ability to physically perform all duties and adhere to program-specific protocols and requirements (e.g., Safe Management)
Working Conditions
- Some travel within the district, including occasional overnight travel
- Irregular working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Participation in an on-call rotation/responsibility
