Overview:
We are seeking motivated, positive, and dependable Field Technicians for 4-month term position to join our team of Resource Professionals in the Forestry Department. Our mission is to provide the highest caliber of service to meet the needs of our clients, and we are only as good as the people on our team. The position(s) will be based out of Prince George, B.C. and will involve shift work throughout the province.

Job Responsibilities:
This position will mainly focus on field work, and its responsibilities will generally include:

Road and boundary layout
-
Road and boundary traversing
-
Ecological data collection
-
Assisting with riparian classification
-
Pre-harvest cut block reconnaissance
-
Timber cruising
-
Assist in the preparation of technical reports and timber appraisals
-
Work closely with Senior Foresters, Biologists and Project Managers to integrate wildlife and Fisheries data into comprehensive forest site plans.
Qualifications:
-
Diploma or degree in Natural Resource Management with a focus on forestry, a related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 1–3 years of field experience in related forestry activities

Knowledge of timber cruising and related forest survey techniques is required.

Understanding of British Columbia forest legislation, including the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation (FPPR).

Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s licence with demonstrated experience driving 4x4 trucks and ATVs.

Physically fit and able to work outdoors; willing to work in demanding conditions.

Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Compensation:
-
The hourly range is $24-$30 and will be commensurate with experience.
