We are a caring elderly couple living in our private home in Woodbridge, Ontario. Due to age-related health concerns and medical conditions, we are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and trustworthy Home Support Worker to assist us with daily living activities and help us remain safe, comfortable, and independent in our home.
The successful candidate will provide companionship, assist with household tasks, prepare nutritious meals, accompany us to appointments, and support our daily routines while treating us with dignity, patience, and respect.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks according to dietary needs.
- Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry, changing bed linens, dishwashing, and organizing the home.
- Assist with grocery shopping and household errands.
- Drive or accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping, and community activities.
- Assist with mobility, walking, transfers, and daily activities as required.
- Provide medication reminders and monitor general well-being.
- Assist with personal care, including dressing, grooming, and bathing, when required.
- Observe and report changes in health or behaviour to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment.
Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma.
- Experience providing care or assistance to seniors, individuals with disabilities, or clients in a home setting is an asset.
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals and perform household duties.
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and respectful.
- Good English communication skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive clients to appointments is an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Criminal Record Check required.
