Role
We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting Department. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with month-end accounting and other various projects that relate to treasury, accounting, SOX internal controls and financial reporting in US GAAP. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.
The role is based at our Vancouver, BC office and reports to the Manager, Corporate Accounting. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing journal entries for the monthly accounting close process including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, analysis of accounting activities.

Assist with preparation of accounting reports and analysis.

Assist with treasury activities.

Assist with the month-end activities for subsidiary companies.

Work with internal and external auditors.

Support SOX compliance and audit.

Assist with preparation of working papers for tax returns and other tax filings.

Assist with preparation of working papers for surveys and other non-financial reporting.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree, CPA accounting designation (in progress) or equivalent is preferred

Minimum of two (2) years accounting work experience with a public company.

Experience with SAP, US GAAP and SOX each considered an asset.

Ability to pay close attention to detail.

Knowledge of proper accounting documentation standards for backup.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well both independently and in a team and across functional areas.

Compensation: CDN$72,000-$85,000 a year + annual bonus
