Job Summary
The Afternoon Supervisor oversees daily operations during the afternoon shift, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance. This leadership role involves coordinating team activities, implementing process improvements, and maintaining smooth workflow, inventory check and ordering. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, familiarity with baking, and a commitment to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and uphold quality standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily production during the afternoon shift
- Track inventory
- Pack wholesale delivery orders for next day
- Order supplies and ingredients as needed
- Lead process improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards throughout the production process
- Provide training and guidance to team members on procedures, workflows, and safety practices
- Support continuous improvement efforts by analyzing workflows and recommending enhancements for operational excellence
Skills
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team during shift operations
- Previous experience in a bakery is preferred, but not necessary
- Familiarity with quality control standards and assembly processes in a production environment
- Effective comunication skills for coordinating across departments and reporting on shift performance
- Ability to analyze data, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical solutions for operational enhancement
